What it is

Sometimes the picture you want does not exist yet. Create with AI makes it. Type what you want to draw — a friendly dragon eating ice cream, say — pick a style, and a picture comes back ready to open in Draw Mode or Trace Mode, or to keep in My Images.

You can also start from a photo instead of a description. Take one, or choose one you already have, and it comes back as a drawing of the same subject on a clean white background. That is the quickest way to draw the dog asleep on the sofa in front of you.

Create with AI is part of Pro. Everything else in the app — searching, saving, Draw Mode and Trace Mode — is free.

How it works

1. Open Create with AI from the home screen and choose a style: line art, cartoon or realistic. Line art is the one to trace.
2. Describe the picture in a sentence, or take a photo, or choose one from your camera roll.
3. Wait a few seconds. Draw it, trace it, save it to My Images, or try again with the same idea.

Tips

• Line art gives you outlines with no shading and no colour — the easiest thing in the app to trace.
• Short descriptions work as well as long ones. Say what the thing is and what it is doing.
• Pictures you make this way get their own tab in My Images, so what you made stays separate from what you found.
• Pro comes with a daily allowance of creations — the number is on the pricing page. The count starts again the next day.

Photos and privacy

A photo you send is used once to make the picture and is never stored. It is not kept on our servers, it is not written to the database, and it is not logged. Only the picture that comes back is kept, and only if you save it.

Every picture is made for children to draw: each style is built around a description that asks for something plain, friendly and suitable for young children, and what you type is checked before anything is made.
